Picket Fences Housing Resource Agency is a holistic community-based initiative committed to transforming lives by addressing the root causes of homelessness, housing insecurity, and generational poverty. Our mission is to move individuals and families from homelessness to homeownership—restoring dignity, stability, and hope—one household at a time.
This is not just about housing. It is about rebuilding lives, restoring neighborhoods, and revitalizing communities. It is about creating sustainable pathways that empower people to transition from surviving to thriving.

To create a thriving, empowered community where individuals are no longer trapped in cycles of homelessness, but are walking in stability, ownership, and purpose—equipped with the resources, knowledge, and support to sustain themselves and impact future generations.
Our Mission:
To restore hope, rebuild communities, and renew lives by providing access to housing resources, financial literacy, workforce development, and homeownership opportunities—while addressing the spiritual, emotional, and practical needs of those we serve.
What We Do:
- Transitional Housing Solutions – Helping individuals and families secure safe, temporary housing while preparing for permanent solutions.
- Workforce Development & Job Readiness – Skills training, resume building, employment assistance, and career coaching.
- Financial Literacy & Credit Restoration – Equipping participants to manage finances, reduce debt, improve credit scores, and prepare for homeownership.
- Pathways to Homeownership – Assisting qualified participants with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to purchase and sustain a home.
- Wraparound Support Services – Life coaching, counseling, mentorship, and referrals to community partners for healthcare, childcare, transportation, and more.
- Community Revitalization Projects – Renovating homes, revitalizing neighborhoods, and reinvesting in local communities—starting with East Cleveland, Ohio.
Why We Exist:
Communities like East Cleveland have suffered from decades of disinvestment, leaving behind abandoned properties, broken systems, and families struggling to survive. Picket Fences is committed to being a catalyst for change.
We believe that everyone deserves a safe place to call home—a place where they can grow, dream, and build generational wealth. We are restoring what was broken, rebuilding what was lost, and renewing hope for families and communities.
