Strength for the Weary

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength…”Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

Devotional:
Weariness can sneak in quietly or crash in like a wave. Whether it’s physical, emotional, or spiritual, exhaustion can make us forget how strong we are in God. The world says, “Push through.” But heaven says, “Wait on Me.”

Waiting doesn’t mean doing nothing. It’s an active surrender. Waiting in prayer means quieting the noise, silencing the pressure, and coming back to the presence of the One who strengthens your soul. God’s promise is clear: those who wait on Him will renew their strength.

This is a divine exchange—your weakness for His strength, your exhaustion for His energy, your frustration for His peace. When you wait, you are not wasting time—you are being refueled, recharged, and rebuilt. You will run and not grow weary. You will walk and not faint. Your strength is on the way.

In the waiting room of prayer, God restores vision, heals brokenness, and refreshes the soul. The world demands constant motion, but heaven invites holy pauses—places where God pours back into you everything that life has drained away. You are not failing when you stop to wait—you are obeying. And when you arise from the waiting, you will be stronger than before.

Reflection:
Where am I feeling weary?
How can I intentionally wait on God for renewed strength?

Prayer:
Father, when I am weak, You are my strength. Teach me to wait on You, to pause in Your presence, and to trust that You are renewing me even now. Breathe new life into my weary soul. Raise me up on eagle’s wings. In Jesus’ name, amen.
